I have a soft spot for the original version of Mudshovel. I was always a little disappointed when they came out with the polished version.

Re: R2: Mudshovel vs. Wish You were Here
I still like "Musdhovel" more than a lot of the songs in this tournament. There's something about the way the bass and the guitar sound that appeal to me, regardless of any lack of technical merit. The argument that music should stand on its own without effects and production holds no water with me.
I also still like "Wish You Were Here" more than most of the other songs vying for this title. Einziger can do some pretty nice stuff with the guitar when he's not playing power chords, Pasillas is a tight drummer, and Boyd might be the best singer in this competition.
I almost want to give the vote to "Mushovel" because "Wish You Were Here" isn't nu metal, but on the other hand it is pretty post-grunge, being not far off from the anthems of Foo Fighters or even Pearl Jam. I also like it more than "Mudshovel," so I guess I'm going Incubus.
