So, this bizarro clownshow actually happened? Like, in the 80s? This isn't some secret "gotcha" Blair Witch fake non-fiction ? I was alive and didn't know about this before now? Maybe I vaguely remember as a small child seeing something about this on TV? WHY DOES THIS SHOW MAKE ME ASK SO MANY QUESTIONS ?!

As a kid in the 80s, I read Bloom County (in the newspaper and the big books that came out) A few strips dealt with the Rajneesh and I had no idea what Berke Breathed was referring to.
30 something years later, it makes sense.

The 80’s news segments on this are wonderful artifacts of how insane tv news was at that time.
