This Taking Back Sunday song is much better than their other one we voted on earlier. There are a few things in the construction of the song that I like, like the guitar parts throughout the verses and the interlocking vocal lines. Also the transition into odd time for the "anyone will do tonight" part feels like a nice little jolt of energy. That lead vocalist is really bad, though.

I am very tempted to vote for "Sk8r Boi", a gleefully dumb song that I hated as a kid but can sort of appreciate for its catchy, unpretentious vapidness now

Need to think about this

Why is Avril dominating?

Taking Back Sunday blow, but Avril is just human garbage.

Avril fully owns what she is trying to do. The other song is trash masquerading as something deeper.

Sk8r isn't a good song, and she has no personality.

the other one is boring.

I dont care.

"Sk8er Boi" is preachier than I remembered. But these emo bands like Taking Back Sunday operate at such a low level of songcraft that Avril wins on that premise alone -- I probably hadn't heard "Sk8er Boi" in fifteen years, turned it off most of the times it came on when it was new, but I could have hummed you that verse and that chorus at any point in there.

I kinda remember liking that Taking Back Sunday one too.

I was also ready to accept that Sk8er Boi might not have been as bad as i remember, but holy crap is that shit ever cringey. Couldn't make it past the second verse.
