Giving the full album a first spin...it's got a lot of groove and I really dig Vance Powell's production. As great as the last two albums were, Machine's production definitely gives them a "bigger" sound in the studio and less of a live feel. This one is a nice mix of both. Dig it!

Yeah I got this, Clutch and Spiritualized’s new records to check out this weekend. Should be a good one.

Gotta hand it to Clutch. Hardest working band on the planet. This is a third outstanding effort in a row while deviating from the last couple records sonically and from a songwriting approach. They're like the loosest riffs being played by the tightest band around. Just fucking fantastic. The whole album is solid, but the back half just really gets cooking...the run of A Good Fire through Paper & Strife is just a blast. Ghoul Wrangler>HB Is In Control is just fucking riff city. Love this band!

Hmmm. I find it hard to believe this is good. I thought they were done after Strange Cousins but loved Earth Rocker. Then Psychic Warfare sucked.

You didn’t like Psychic Warfare? I think it and Earth Rocker are cut from the same cloth, with PW my favorite of the two. Either way man, this album is definitely different than the last two but just as great.

Psychic Warfare is the only Clutch album I've heard, and I really like it. Will certainly check this out.

Some of the early work is incredible... Beale Street and everything before it basically.
I feel like they've been on auto pilot for awhile, but I'll get around to the new one soon.

Son Of Virginia is one of their greatest songs though.

Really diggin' Vision Quest. It's a damn good song through the solo, then that bridge hits with that bass riff and the horns...just killer. Dan's always the anchor in Clutch, but he's really taken his game up a few notches on this one.

Ghoul Wrangler is my favorite so far but I haven't finished the album. Too early to say what I think but it's better than I expected.

Gotta say, as a RMer I am somewhat terrified and disturbed by the song title "H.B Is in Control".

This was a song I listened to a few times during election season. Not a bad platform to run on.
"How To Shake Hands"
I'm gonna be President
Of the United States
First Tuesday in November
Mark it down and save the date
Live music in the White House
Strictly B.Y.O.B.
The public want to get down
It is our collective destiny
I'm gonna kiss all the babies
Maybe kiss their Mamas too
I don't need the secret service
I know how to work a room
First thing that I'm gonna do
Is disclose all those U.F.O.s
Put Jimi Hendrix on the 20 dollar bill
And Bill Hicks on a 5 note
