Cuban Daughter jam

Found this under the related videos for that Israeli preteen performance of "Alive".

From the video description:
While I was walking the streets of Santiago de Cuba, the capitol of Salsa music, I thought to my self, being a Pearl Jam fan that I am, how cool would it be to film a salsa player playing a Pearl Jam song!!!
After a few minutes of thought I decided that the most fitting song for salsa is Daughter... :)
I went to a guy that sells music instruments on the market and told him what I wanted, he told me - come back in 20 minutes and i´ll have a band (!!!) waiting for you...
I played the band the song for like three times and then they jammed!

I find this absolutely hilarious and also deeply unsettling

For all the hysterics involved, give me those kids over the "Mick Jagger singing Satisfaction but without irony or joy" that has been every song of Ten the last....I don't even know how many years.

That's so amazing. They must be taking the piss.

It sounds like a recording of Tom Waits shitting out a Pearl Jam song. I love it.

Jorge does a great voice-to-text interpretation of "Release".

What kind of person is wandering around Cuba and thinks to themselves "Man, I sure would love to hear these salsa musicians play some PEARL JAM!" and then goes and asks someone to make that happen for him? That strikes me as a pretty dick thing to do.

I thought the same thing, but didn't want to say it. Seems like a weird, "I say dance, SO DANCE" white man thing to do. Hope he paid them well.

How many drafts of this post did you go through before deciding against using the word "monkey"?
