Had no idea there was even a decent video of this show. Anyway, I haven't heard this song in years until tonight. I still really like it. Ed sounds great and it's an interesting use of this talents, although at times he looks totally stoned and lost on guitar. It was an interesting phase. Wonder if we'll ever hear parting ways with the sitar?

i think that it's a Coral Electric Sitar on Parting Ways which would make it much more easier to play live as it is on Binaural.
and i agree that Face of Love is a great song - i often prefer it to Long Road as far as the Ali Khan collaborations go.

If Eddie's solo collaborations were allowed for the PJ song tournament this was going to be one of my intended picks. The Long Road collaboration is also great.

One of those rare songs Ed did so well back then...
I remember those pre internet days were you had time to swallow new music, new information...stuff like this was a treasure.

This performance is amazing. That whole set, save for Trouble, is just beautiful.
Did Eddie write the music for this as well?

You don't like trouble from that show? It's my favourite version of the song.

I remember listening to this when a recording of this surfaced for the first time. I was blown away. It sounded so good and different, especially compared what every other artist was doing at the time. If ever there would be peace between countries and cultures, stuff like this would be the basis of it. I feel lucky having seen his nephew perform in 2001 at the Groundwork Benefit show in Seattle, one month after 9/11(!).

I used to love it! But, when I've gone back to it recently, it's a little flat. Too precious, maybe?

Hey let's rank the non-PJ Eddie appearances.
Against The 70s
Face of Love
Good Woman Heart To Hang On To (live on Letterman)
Balls In Your Mouth
Fun Fact: The day Ed sang that on Letterman, he autographed the cover of a No Code vinyl album for me. I sent the album to my friend who interned for the show and he got the sig.
