I guess just being at a game or a concert or a speech doesn’t count, otherwise it would be several thousand. But if you end up having a close encounter it does.

Chris Cornell (he came straight to me at the end of a concert, shook my hand and thanked me, then left without talking to or interacting with anyone else. It was so weird, but since it was him it meant a lot)
Aidan Gillen (met him on the London subway, tried to act casual, but when I told my mother who he was, both she and him reacted)

Several footballers (including Premier League players)

If we are talking longer conversations/meeting/parties:
Several Norwegian ministers and various other Norwegians (from tv, movies, music, authors, athletes etc) - there are some stories there, but since none of you know who they are...

I’m sure I’m forgetting something, there’s been a few of those; «look who’s there» moments. Yet none of those crazy (but true) Dime stories.

I saw Jorge on a bus a couple of months ago. He was listening to his iphone alone, looked really sad and troubled. I decided not to interact with him.

Pete Rose On the way to a Pearl jam concert my friend's and my flight was delayed & Pete Rose was on the flight! During a long layover I sat kind of near him at the airport and acted like I didn't know who he was. Then him and his people started talking about the Phillies, and I joined in the conversation. At one point I brought up "Pete Rose" and Pete Rose looked at me like I was some kind of dork or something but I kept up the charade. Before I left I did get his autograph . But I wasn't gonna just go up to the guy and be all like DUH HI
