oooffff. This will need a careful listen. I am disappointed that this isn't an early 90s black, though.

Any of these older songs that are presented from back then is better than any of them from present day. Breath.

Black. This is a Ten song I actually prefer hearing live from the middle years; it could just get to be too much (mostly from Eddie) in the early, early years; it just feels like it needed some weight and age under it. I love the 2000-era versions, but this is one of my favorites; as I started listening, I was actually hoping it was the one with the Good Woman tag. The kind of spaciness and emptiness in the jam really suits the song.

I'll go with this. And you just can't go wrong with Italy in 2006.

This was a tough call. I like my black with a touch of melodrama, and I generally am not as much of a fan of the way the intro sounds and the less bombastic presentation of the later day versions. But Black (like Alive and Jeremy) are songs whose performance really rises or falls on the strength of the outro - nail that and the rest doesn't matter. And it's a solid outro, but missing that unhinged 'my world is collapsing' feel of the best versions.

This is a good version of Breath, but Breath is a song whose live versions have never captured the sense of innocence and possibility of the studio version. And this is no different.

Vote for Black, but these are both live versions that don't come close to the originals.

I just listened to both. I was wrong, it’s Black. Vote changed.
