I think it’s probably their best song post-Binaural.

I jut can’t find anything to love in it at all.
It sounds like a status quo song

I love Sleeping By Myself so much, and this version captures the jaunty brave hopefulness in the face of desolation that the studio version has. Could have done without that 'wooh' at the start, though. I like the Mike's parts are lower in the mix here, too. That solo is just slightly jarring on the record.

not a bad unemployable - the vocals lose some of the shine I don't mind. But nothing special about it either, and in the end this is probably the song I like the least from the last three records.

And I voted for it.

Unemployable, and jesus Matt is so good there. He and Jeff are playing the hell out of this song.

Unemployable by a fairly wide margin. It's one of my favorites on S/T, and one of my favorites period in the post-Riot Act era. I actually miss some of the sheen that was there on the studio recording (ironically, the time the band best captured what they were going for on Backspacer, in terms of melding their approach with poppier sensibilities, may have been done best on this song and Parachutes, both of which were on the previous record). Despite that, it's a well-performed version of a very good song.
Sleeping by Myself never really grabbed me other than right at the album's release. The live versions always feel a bit tossed-off, but I wasn't really a fan of the original uke version, either. There are some other songs on that record that I would have been much more interested in seeing what the band could do with them.

The lyrics to "Unemployable" sound worse to me with each passing year, but since this a vote for live performance, I won't factor them in. I don't mind the BO'B-ified "Sleeping By Myself," but like a lot of the "LB" tracks, it feels like a track-by-track studio concoction that doesn't really bear out in live performance. And "Unemployable" generally comes across really well live, so I'm voting for that.

If this song and sentiment was called ‘drinking by myself’, we’d be all over it.

Unemployable is really fucking good. It’s definitely one of my favorite post RA songs, and I liked the performance a lot. Easiest vote ever.
