i'll say that the album version is the definitive one unless someone throws in a live one with piano and tons of backing vocals and a sniffing dog. (ibtgoddamn that fadeout)

This has become a top 10 PJ song. Absolutely stunning.

I'd love to hear Ed's backing vocals isolated at some point. He sounds absolutely demonic.

As for the song, masterpiece. For all the (legit) complaints about what was left off of Binaural, this is one mf of a tune. Which of course means that the band hates it and acts like it never happened.

The guys killed it. Ed sounds good despite forgetting a chunk of the lyrics

Exactly :\

Off the top of my head:

All or None
Life wasted
Parachutes
Supersonic
Let the records play

now, I love all or none and parachutes but as far as signature stone guitar work...

Amongst the waves is stone.

I really like the life wasted riff.

Right, forgot about that one.

life Wasted is fine as a guitar riff but its a pretty standard and unimaginative. The only cool part is putting the cap on upside down on the fourth fret and leaving the low E string open.

Yeah, it's not groundbreKing, but it's good. I really like what stone is playing in ATW as well, esp. inthe verses. It just has that unfortunate few opening notes.

Nevertheless, stone has really dropped his game in terms of songwriting.

I always wished Ed's backing vocals were the primary vocals or as high in the mix as the main ones. The song should have gone on for a minute or two longer with a real long Black like fade out.

Stone's done a bunch of co-writing I believe. He has credit on Comatose, Johnny Guitar, Infallible and Pendulum in addition to the solo credits. He also did Bushleaguer.
