I'm just happy that the show has a theater. That thing has been trying to get into the theater I work at for more than a year now.

No, no. I'm not working on it at all. Thank god. My current show is still running and now we don't have to worry about a premature closing so they can force this thing in.

Tuesday night, my wife and I saw the new revival of "Burn This" on Broadway. The show stars Keri Russell and Adam Driver. It's an outstanding production of an outstanding play -- I play I've loved since high school.

Adam Driver is a force of nature in this thing. I haven't missed acting since I gave it up. But this... watching him perform, watching him perform, seeing his craft and script work, it was so captivating and inspirational, that I desperately missed acting again. With all my heart, I missed it. I wanted to be up there sparring with him SO badly. The guy is such a blistering talent.

Keri was a bit flat, unfortunately. She had great moments but often felt out of her depth and out of touch with her body on stage -- which was especially wonky because she's playing a dancer/choreographer. She had made some interesting physical choices in the way she stood and used her legs in the quieter moments, but otherwise it seemed she was hyper self-conscious. I wanted more from her. And she had a hard time keeping up with Driver. He was so generous and never felt like he was chewing scenery, but his presence overwhelmed, in good way.

Still, an amazing show. I highly recommend for anyone in NYC the next couple of months.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is amazing. The theatricality is mind-blowing.

I read the script when it came out and felt beyond underwhelmed. Seeing it live is a completely different experience. If you get the chance, you have to go.

Holy shit!

I’ve been trying to find a good play to see in NYC the last week of June. I’ll have to see if this is still running. Thanks!
I believe it closes in mid-July. So, you should be able to make it work.

You should see if there are any discount codes out there on Broadway Box or the like. I paid $69 and sat in the first row of the balcony, side section, aisle. And there were AMAZING seats. Honestly, the way the stage is angled/arranged, balcony is the way to go. It's not too far away to see facial expressions AND you get a great view of the staging and traffic patterns. That really helps amplify the text.
