Twenty-Thousand Miles to an Oasis: The Road Snacks Thread

We've got a chips thread, but we do not have a
snacks thread. You know, those impulse buys when you're filling up with gas, thinking about the next four hours of driving you've got to do? When you don't want to gorge on a burger, water isn't enough, you just need a snack. This is a thread for that.
I've recently discovered this bag of crack cocaine. Better than Corn Nuts and better than Taki because it's both!

I don't think I have one set thing. I tend to gravitate towards crunch over protein, though. A good Texas road stop will have a good variety of jerky, but it's just so damn expensive you might as well skip it and hold out for some actual BBQ.

Actually, I probably won’t. I wouldn’t be surprised if any corn nut type product ultimately comes from the same factory. Just buy some corn nuts and squeeze some lime on it, then dust it with chili powder.

There are few pleasures in life more wonderful than summer road trips dotted with gas and snack stops.

One of the
only things I like about travelling to the Dallas area where my in-laws are is being in QT and 7-Eleven territory. Very nice gas stations with good prices and interesting snack selections.

How far into a bag of Takis can you guys make it through in one sitting before the sour gets to be too intense? I can do mayyyyybe a third of a bag. That crunch is too good.

Love me some Bugles but in all seriousness my snack game varies every time.
Gotta be something that I can eat while driving and not get too messy.

If you are feeling a little groggy on the way home, a few sour patch kids are sure to surprise your senses and wake you up for the rest of your trip.
