... will ever be a Star Wars movie that’s rated R? With their main draw coming to a close in December, do you think they’ll really be a move to take a film in that direction? And I’m not necessarily talking about showing titties or anything like that. It could be more of the blood and guts gore and language.

Or will Disney go more “adult” with any of their TV shows for Plus? Along the lines of Game of Thrones or Deadwood? The Mandalorian looks like it would be something that could go in that direction, but I doubt their out-of-the-gate show would be so bold.

Would any of you even WANT them to do anything like this?

I could see there being some TV-MA rated shows. I think the chance for an R-rated movie is lower, but still possible. I'd be alright with ass, titties, and more generally adult stuff in some SW.

Why not? Titties and blood like Game Of Thrones and Deadwood sounds good. Can’t lose the story in it though, use the freedom to make an even better story.

I would say ESB is a well-crafted movie and stands up there with any other Oscar movie and it doesn’t have titties or blood.

I would posit the opposite: that nudity and gore limit stories.

It just seems nowadays when filmmakers put sex and violence into movies it's just for the sake of making them "more adult"

I have no problem with that stuff in movies, but you know when they put that into stuff like GOT that it's for the "kewlness"


It seemed like adults were perfectly find with the star wars movies from 77 - 83. I don't see why you need to change that formula.
