Projector for Outdoor Movies

Post by Superblood Wolfmoon »

Does anybody here have a projector they use for outdoor movie watching? I'm not looking to spend $1000 as it will be used a few times a year at best. I'm getting a bit bogged down with resolutions and such. From what I've read the lumen rating is probably most important, and I'm looking for ones that have at least 3000. Epson has a nice one for around $300 but the resolution is 800x600, and I'm not sure that's going to cut it. Anyway, just checking to see if anyone here has recommendations.

No, I don't. Sorry. Good luck on your search. I hope somebody will have some experience with this so they can give you some valuable input. Again, sorry, but I cannot speak on the subject because I do not have any experience with outdoor projectors and good luck on your search.

Jesus fuck.

To answer your question, there are three things you need to take into account: The brightness of the bulb, what you're projecting onto, and whether it's going to give you a headache (see here). You're already looking at the brightness, which is good. Consider also that you'll be projecting while the sun is still up so the position of the sun in relation to the wall and projector are both important.

The projector we bought had that rainbow thing going and it gave me a migraine almost immediately so we took it back. We haven't tried any of the newer ones to see if it's gotten better but it's possible.

Yeah I think we're gonna just skip this whole thing for now. But it gave me a great idea for a business, if anyone wants to invest. It would be a place where you drive your car into an outdoor area equipped with a large, freestanding screen, and watch the movie from your vehicle. I think this has legs guys.

Heh, I'm no help on the tech, but my local library has a few that the lend out. We did some outdoor movies for one of the kids' birthdays.

It was a great 0 dollar option.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

If you wouldn’t spend all your money on Pearl Jam swag you’d have the money to spend on a proper projector for your children, B.
