Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Pacino's performance makes more sense if you know there was a whole subplot of his characters cocaine addiction that was cut (I think only vague allusions to it survive in the final edit). That scene in the gif is also hilarious for having been improvised by Pacino to the shock of Hank Azaria. The look of bemusement and low key disgust they used in the final film was apparently Azaria's genuine wtf reaction.contamination wrote:I used to love Heat, but I just rewatched it and Pacino's over the top acting really ruins the movie for me. I mean his performance is ridicilous![]()
