What’s worse, they think they can bring the same thing to it that Marvel did. These will fail.

It'll take more than Tom Holland to make a billion dollar SM movie. Also, the whole connection to the MCU is gone for the S-M franchise, so no more Stark connection, no more Nick Fury, hell, they don't even get Happy Hogan. All of that is gone.

I'm not sure they'll even be able to use the versions of MJ, Aunt May, Flash ect from the MCU movies. Disney had to alter their versions of the characters so Sony could retain the classic versions. It will be pretty jarring if Aunt May is an old blue hair and MJ is a white redhead all of a sudden. Tim Rothman is the gift that keeps giving.

I like the MCU Spidey but I could see how people could not be a fan of the Kid Iron Man angle.

I hope we get a Spider-Man movie out of this that shows how he became Spider-Man and shows Uncle Ben's untimely death. They really haven't covered that much in previous SM films.

Well Disney pays 95% of the cost and gets 5% of the profits. They asked for 50/50. Sony said no and didn't counter offer. This has Tim Rothman written all over it.

I haven't liked the new spider-man movies at all, but it does seem weird and kinda sad for it to be ruined over corporate bullshit.
