Yea. rambo belongs firmly planted in the 80's. Otherwise it just looks like stallone is using his money to blow shit up and record it.

Welp. Just watched it and holy shit i loved it.
Its clearly just stallone blowing shit up and really has no real relation to any prior Rambo films other than by name only.
But holy hell did I have a great time watching it! What is great about it is they do such a good job at making you hate the bad guys that when it comes time for payback all you can do is sit back and cheer for old timer john rambo to be the killing machine he has been his entire life.
So, yea. Great!

I love the first one. The 2nd and 3rd were great movies to have on in the background while I played with my GI Joe's as a kid. 4th was a pleasant surprise since Sly hadn't put out anything all that good in years. They prob should have stopped with 4. This one was so over the top violent and dour I found myself laughing at the absurdity of it all. I'm assuming that wasn't what they were going for. I hope there is another one so he can finish it off better.
