I know I'm not Dev but I am Canadian and I can explain the theory...what goes best with fries --ketchup, fries and chips are the same food source so why shouldn't ketchup go just as well on chips.
That's the theory , the reality is ketchup chips are gross.

Hopefully it didn't take too much effort? It's pork!
but it wasn't as chock-full of fatty goodness as american bacon. mmmmm, american bacon.

All-dressed (assaisonnées in French) or colloquially known as "Dressed All Over" chips are a potato chip flavour popular in Canada.[1] The flavour combines the potato chip flavours of barbecue, ketchup, sour cream and onion, and salt and vinegar.

I usually saw it as "tout garni" in French in Canada
Also, ketchup chips are gross, oh so gross.
Poutine is fun and all but I honestly just prefer gravy fries.
They drink bloody caesars (or clamatos) which is like a bloody mary but with clam broth. Gross

French fries with gravy is delicious but I have many friends who look at me with a quizzical expression when I say that.
