Apple TV+

At its special March 2019 event, Apple announced Apple TV Plus, a brand new streaming service that, according to its CEO Tim Cook, "is unlike anything that's come before".

This doesn't look that interesting so far. Wonder if it will struggle in competition with Prime, Netflix, HBO and Disney.

Pretty on brand for Apple to claim a streaming service is unlike anything you've seen before (in 2019).

I overheard two different conversations about this on Friday. Both were discussing how you need an iPhone to watch these shows. I think Apple is going to struggle to market this to the consumer that is used to Apple services only being available on Apple devices.

It’s $6 dollars per month here for Apple TV+, or free for a year when you buy an Apple product.
On Apple TV all apps are free, but of course if you want to watch Netflix, Prime, HBO, etc., you must buy a subscription with those.
