On The Run was a serious head fuck when I was 15 and smoking pot and listening to Floyd. It's hard to listen to with fresh ears but it's still got it.

Great parenting 101: I told my (19yo) son that the next time he was stoned to grab my good headphones and sit in his room, lights off, and listen to DSotM.
I know he smokes with friends and occasionally comes home blazed (word of the day!) but he doesn't smoke around us or anything like that. But the way I figure it this is a basic rite of passage, no?

These are both good tunes. I love when Pink Floyd indulges in the dreamy style of "Burning Bridges"; it reminds me that I really ought to get around to checking out Obscured by Clouds. "On the Run" is the more experimental and forward-thinking piece. It and the rest of Dark Side laid a path for many bands to follow in the years to come. I'm pretty sure "On the Run" will win, so I'll give the first and perhaps only vote to "Burning Bridges."

burning bridges is one of the weaker tracks on obscured by clouds. on the run is a classic. i agree it was a headfuck when first getting into them.
