Bill Murray revisits Groundhog Day

Post by tragabigzanda »

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I feel privileged to have watched it in the cinema when it came out, feel like I was part of history. That film was more influential than the likes of Jaws and A New Hope. Groundhog Day to mean the same thing happening over and over again came from that film. I don't think another film since Gaslight (gaslighting) can say that.
So basically, Johnson and May spent Trump's presidency fighting each other over how best to sell the NHS to Trump.

This trend of rehashing beloved works of pop art for the sake of hocking products makes me want to vomit. Absolutely disgusting. Murray should be ashamed of himself for participating in this.

Much as I hate to admit it, I tend to agree. Thought the same last year when Jeff Bridges resurrected Lebowski for....I don't remember what...Heineken?

I still love Bill Murray though and it does not in the least tarnish the legacy of Groundhog Day. Classic to the end, RIP Harold Ramis

Im just saying, some of these hardcore punk ideals (or whatever) will soften with age. Doesnt mean you don't care about art.

Caring about art and finding it gross when it’s debased by morally bankrupt corporations isn’t a “hardcore punk ideal”

You’re not 70 and I’m not 15

Stop being like this

What a dumb ad. Murray never hung out with the groundhog in the movie.
