Songs sometimes need to marinate in the brain before the thing that gets you about them reveals themselves. Others you love right away.

Or you could just be talking about dicks and fix and file things.

No.

Music that is not obviously catchy (or rigid in terms of tempo and time signatures) can take some time to reveal itself.

The ultimate example of this would be "Trout Mask Replica".

The aural equivalent of a "seeing eye" puzzle.
