Pearl Jam Philosophers

by 7 Years and Maybe Longer
Apparently, some philosophers are currently working on a volume entitled "Pearl Jam and Philosophy" and are looking for inputs from others to include in the book to be released next year.

"The general scope of the book is to investigate, interpret and decipher the philosophical contents and meanings (at various levels: existential, spiritual, ethical, political, purely aesthetical, etc.) that are present in the production of Pearl Jam, perhaps the greatest rock band of the last decades, celebrating thirty years of recording and live activity in 2021. From this point of view, the book aims to originally and uniquely unite a genuine passion and enthusiasm for Pearl Jam's music and a rigorous and in-depth capacity of philosophical and also literary analysis."

This goes on and on and on for 9 pages in the PDF at the link.

I think someone may need to send them a link to RM, although it may give them more than they bargain for.

Seattle grunge stalwarts Pearl Jam once said: supersonic gone and took my soul. In this essay, I will...

A Pearl Jam based philosophy would have about as much depth as a midseason episode of Friends.

I am generally not a fan of this series of books (I've read two or three of them) but I can hardly criticize someone for publishing extended reflections on themes in pearl jam's music. Good on them. I'll read it.

I just went back and did a word count. Without having touched Yield and with Lightning Bolt half finished I wrote 156 single spaced pages, and 98,398 words.

The word agency appears 34 times. I think 30 times are in the Binaural posts.
