Remember the first time you saw The Matrix? That Wake Up drop was quite the rush. I was so mad at the Wachowskis when Revolutions didn’t end with a Rage song.

Imagine making it to the credits of Revelations before getting mad :haha:

Seriously though I was only like 14 when that came out and I thought it sucked ass even back then.

Because it's a sleeper powerhouse, and unlike most other songs in their catalog: The shuffling drumbeat, the hazy guitar, the chorus that is just a repeated "Yeah!" with some spoken words buried in the background, and the drunken comedown at the end.

It does everything differently than most other RATM songs, and yet it still fits comfortably within the rest of their work. It manages to deliver a unique vibe whenever it comes up on a RATM playlist. And Zack's slow ramping up of his vox, from something restrained to something about to burst, in each of the verses is just :heartbeat:

Some dude on another board I posted at in the 2000’s did a ranking of every RATM song with extremely detailed reviews and his number 1 was Snakecharmer.

It’s a great song, it just can’t duke it out with Wake Up though.
