Red Mosquito

Despite the suffocating production of Lightning Bolt doing it (and just about every song on that album) no favors, I really like it. Musically it occupy a fairly unique space in the catalog, it really comes into its own live, and I like Eddie's performance (and I really dig that acoustic transition into the outro). It's a good song that might have been a great song on a different album.


I'm Still here is painfully intimate in a way that is more awkward then compelling, and feels like it is reaching for something it neither grasps nor earns. For whatever reason Eddie cannot do spoken word well.

Easy vote for Pendulum

There are a bunch of good but not great songs on Lightning Bolt. There is one essential song for me. That is Pendulum.

I should probably listen to Pendulum more often than I do. Usually when I think about Lightning Bolt the album it's just to put on Lightning Bolt the song and that's it.

I'm with you on this. I had prepared myself to be in a situation where I'd be voting for I'm Still Here, but it's not happening here. I don't love Lightning Bolt, but Pendulum is easily one of the more interesting songs on it.

I'm Still Here is probably my favorite spoken word track they've done. But I'd still always rather listen to Pendulum.
