Animal vs. Parachutes

Look, it's Animal, but these are both amazing songs. I wish they would right more stuff like Parachutes. Actually I suppose Buckle Up may be like it's next act.

The S/T production does this song no favors, but the song shines regardless. Wonderful off kilter melody, a curious, floating performance from Eddie that fits the imagery and themes, and that crack at the end where it all almost falls apart if not for the memories holding it all together. Parachutes is one of the best songs of the round, but it's not better then animal.

Both of these are top tracks yet I've tired a little of Animal. Parachutes however still grows for me.

Parachutes is a nice little song, and I like it's placement on Avocado.

Animal is one of my favorite early PJ moments. Seeing this on the VMAs back in 93 was a defining moment of my young fandom. It easily gets my vote here.

Animal really is a contender for the best rock song of the 90s. And a contender for best rock vocal ever.
