Literally no memory of what AT sounds like but I’m glad to vote for it.

This hurts. Until Gigaton these were the two Pearl Jam songs I listened to the most in like the past 5 years. Even though they don't do anything exotic with it, I love how they make Again Today their own and transform the song into something all together different - and a great, charged performance from everyone involved. A ton of fun to sing along to.

But Lightning Bolt is my favorite track on its album, and probably my favorite track from Lightning Bolt or Backspacer, two albums I really like. The start is a bit of a dud (see also Force of Nature) but once the song gets going it never ceases to feel relentless and thrilling in a way these anthems hadn't felt in a very long time. And the third verse into the outro is such a cathartic moment, especially with the way Eddie is chasing after the music. I love it.

Vote for Lightning Bolt, but I adore both of these

LB is such a missed chance..its boring and the studio version has that fucking fade out, i cant believe it happened.

i've said it before, but if they had written and produced this to be 2.5 minute garage number, rather than 4+ minute epic arena rock song, it would be a stunner. They should've just ended it with what is currently the bridge, a la Never Destination.

I'm not the biggest fan of LB, but I'm making a positive vote for Again Today, as well. It has a lot of the trappings of modern PJ production and arrangement that are grating (Matt drops in for what seems like is the fifth iteration of the same non-descript drumming opening to a song, for example). But it's a good song, and really captures what it seems like they were trying to do on BS and LB better than almost anything on those records.

Alive Today never struck a chord with me. Lightning Bolt has gotten a little old for me, but at least it did, at one time, make me happy.
