This is kind of close for me. The music in No Way is clearly better. But I've always hated these lyrics (not that Blood is a triumph) and a fiery Vs. performance (which everyone delivers) goes a long way - especially since No Way is one of the bottom of the album vocal performances for me.

Now that I type all that all, easy vote for Blood.

I'm struggling with this one. Neither one of these are top-shelf for me, but I like them both, and to my ears they each carve out a unique little space in the catalogue.

I think I'm going with No Way, but it's close.

No Way.

Especially love the SVT Theory when they jam the outro ....

What a great song.

The 93-95 live Bloods were epic, but these days i prefer the studio cut of No Way

Picking a favorite song is a definite fool's errand, but No Way has been my favorite lately.
If it were up to me it'd win it all this year.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to describing music and music theory but I'm curious.
Is No Way the epitome of "rhythmic things that butt up against each other"?
There are constantly changing guitar riffs and often Mike and Stone are playing pretty different things.
Brain of J has a lot of that too.

I mean Blood has nice guitar interplay too actually, just isn't quite the core of the song in the same way as No Way and Brain of J.

No Way has a lot to sink your teeth into. Excellent headphone listening.

"No Way," easily. Sometimes it's my favorite song on Yield. It's got a weird little swagger and there's copious sonic details in the production to pick out with each listen.

"Blood" has always been one of the lesser songs since the first time I heard it. It leans a little too heavily on the funk and metal aspects for my taste, but I enjoy the catharsis when I'm in the right mindset.

You should be banned for saying this. You can never have too much funk.

There must be a George Clinton meme out there somewhere for this...

Funk is fine in and of itself, but Pearl Jam's songwriting got better after they trimmed most of the funk influences out. They could play the style like nobody's business, but had a hard time transcending pastiche in their writing.
