Immortality vs. Nothing As It Seems

Oh god damnit.

Good match up. Similar songs. And NAIS is pretty great. But Immortality is like Pearl Jam's Country Feedback, and there isn't much that's better than Country Feedback or Immortality.

Easy vote for Immortality, but no disrespect for NAIS, which has probably grown into my second favorite Binaural song

Two greats, but going with Immortality.

Nothing as it Seems, and honestly it's not difficult. I feel like everyone probably has the one song that everyone thinks is an all time classic that you just think is good, and Immortality is (and I think has always been) that for me. I do like it, but there's a lot of songs I'd take over it, including NAIS. Stip saying Immortality is PJ's Country Feedback is interesting to me, because honestly out of their entire catalog, NAIS is probably the song I've associated with that song the most. The sonic atmosphere they create and the desolation you feel is really similar, even if their song structure is kind of different.

I had an easier time naming my kids.

Yeah if anything NAIS is the Country Feedback equivalent.

NAIS is not nearly naked or raw enough for the country feedback comparison. The emotional impact in NAIS is veiled and exploratory in a way CF (or immortality) isn’t.

The REM song closest to NAIS is Drive
