I think sometimes they tend to kind of drone on and go on musical interludes that aren't necessary. For example...I love Present Tense, but I don't see why the second half instrumental part really needs to be there at all. I usually find myself really bored at that part, and it never comes back from it. It just goes on and on, and has nothing really to do with the rest of the song. I would understand if it was building towards a second part but it just seems like they randomly tacked on an instrumental that doesn't relate to the song much at all. I think the song would be a lot stronger without it.

I also really dislike the bridges of Not For You, except for the fact that they sound cool coming back into the main riff. Overall though they seem disconnected to me, like they don't really fit in with the rest of the song.

In terms of structure things I don't like I always wish In Hiding would hit the good part a lot sooner than it does.

Rival's fade out is too early.

Mind Your Manners' last chorus really feels like it needs to go a second time through.

Can we have a 'Parts you do like of Pearl Jam songs you DON'T like' as well? There's far more of those for me, and they're mostly all over S/T.

They are way too comfortable with BoB. They need a producer who takes them for a ride and challenges them. I'd be interested to hear a Lanois album but so to a Jim O'Rourke. Or maybe a classic guy like Glyn Johns.

The solo at the end of I Am Mine. It's actually one of my favorite Mike solos, but I always felt it could have gone on for at least another 20 seconds....just seems cut short or something. It's beautifully done, that's probably why I wish it was longer.

Early fade out on Johnny Guitar (again cutting Mike short). I actually had this issue with several songs on Backspacer (I'm def a fan of the album though).

Also, agree about the early Rival fade out.

Ugh, I absolutely love the second half of "Present Tense", especially the album version. Jack and Jeff do some great work there.

Evertyhing from Supersonic is awful, except the bridge.

i would love all of Green Disease if the drumming was different, i dont know how the drumming should be or if it could work any other way, but its one of my least favorite songs just because of the drumming

yeah I can't think of any song that I like with a part I don't like, chances are if I don't like part of a song I don't like the song

I think he means the "outro"? I cant, for the life of me, understand why anyone would not love that sonic explosion. However, for the life of me, cannot understand why anyone would not find joy in the outro. That is just incredibly beautiful.

Same here. All I can think of are parts I especially don't like from the songs I already don't like. I'll try to collate a list later!

Intro of Force of Nature.

I don't like "keepin' on keepin' on" or whatever it is from Got Some.

I think Ed's annunciation on the first verses of Just Breathe and Speed of Sound is overdramatic and annoying, but I really like those songs from the first chorus onwards.
