Not my favorite franchise, there's never been much of a story, wall jump in Super Metroid was so bad it made me quit, exploration is fun - too much backtracking isn't, tone is good, boobs are good - but the only game in the series that really featured boobs, Other M, is the entry that fans try to act like it doesn't exist.

That being said, I will eventually buy Dread, I look forward to Prime 4 and I hope to beat some of entries that I skipped in the coming years.

Metroid Prime is one of the best games ever made.

I've never actually played a Metroid game.

I'm several hours into Dread and have been enjoying it quite a bit. It's challenging and rewarding. Again though, I really wish the visuals were of better quality, especially in docked mode.

Started Dread last night. What an absolute joy to be playing a new, original 2D Metroid game again. Her movements and animations are so slick!

Yes it is and yes they are. Are you playing in docked? If so, what do you think of the 720p resolution? Does it bother you like it bothers me? I'm mostly past it, but it would be so much sweeter in at least 1080p.

I've only played it in handheld. Will likely try it docked sometime later this week, mostly to use the pro controller. It's sort of a fool's errand to want high end visuals with the Switch at this point, especially from a smaller studio. 1080p would be nice, but it's not a deal breaker by any means.

Since I actually have a Gamecube now, I'll pick up Metroid Prime if I ever find it for cheap.

I'm gonna guess the price on that one these days is even more outrageous than SSBM and Zelda games from that era.

I beat Dread last night. I enjoyed the experience, for the most part. Glad I played. Not blown away though. I still feel like it should've cost 30, 45 bucks tops.
