I've become obsessed with figuring out the origin to a very ubiquitous piece of music

It pops up a lot of places, but you can hear it at the very end of this song (4:49 mark)



It's a little musical sting, usually signaling "the end" of something. I keep thinking it's something from Looney Tunes, or from an old ragtime tune, but I can't place it. And it's impossible to Google!

Do you know? Can you help?

sounds like something Nickelodeon used, but I can't pinpoint for what exactly.

You Can't Do That on Television, maybe?

that might be it. i immediately thought of nickelodeon when i heard it.

Wikipedia says the intro is a Dixieland arrangement of the William Tell Overture, if that helps.

Maybe write a hit song that uses that sting and wait and see who sues you?

Isn't the Muppet Show theme a variation of this...maybe a few more da das.

Sounds like a standard showtune conclusion cue you'd hear on piano. Not sure what it's called.

I think it might be part of the animaniacs theme?

It probably has its roots in vaudeville
