Rod Stewart rules. Several of his songs are tied to very specific childhood memories. I don’t understand his hair but that’s beside the point.

My mom never liked going to concerts like me and my dad, but she's seen Rod Stewart and Barry Manilow probably more than I've seen Pearl Jam

I like some 70's Rod and his stuff with the Faces though I always feel a little weird about it after reading Kevin Davis's passionate loathing of the man.

Yeah, I'm not a fan. Dude really bugs me and I also can't stand his voice. Also, his cove of Downtown Train makes me want to scream. But dude is obviously doing something right. So who cares what I think?

"Rhythm of My Heart" is a super catchy song, based on an old Scottish melody I think.

On the other hand I almost always assume that anytime I get into an older artist who has been around for a long time, I am inevitably going to come across a song in their catalog that was at some point an adult contemporary hit for Rod Stewart, and I always have to unlearn Rod's crappy version in order to hear the original properly. It happened with Van Morrison, Tom Waits, Tom Petty…when does it end??
