I've never understood what was appealing about Whale Song. Eddie's political songs usually need to be pretty indirect to be worthwhile. Great music, weak lyrics, and flat spoken word performance.
Comes than Goes is a gorgeous vocal performance and probably has more striking images than almost any other Eddie lyric. So many fantastic moments. Gigaton is such a well written record.

Comes Then Goes is really fabulous late era Eddie song.
The Whale Song is fun, Bushleaguer is better than people give credit - but Comes Then Goes is real nice.

I really like the choruses of Bushleaguer, especially the vocal layering in the prechorus, but I just don't like the spoken word portions. Really everything about the song is excellent except those vocals.
I remember Jeff talking about a version where Ed sang the whole song. I'd really like to hear that someday.
Anyway, I'm voting for Comes Then Goes.

Throwing some love to Whale Song, but I'll gladly switch to Comes Then Goes if it's a nailbiter

I quite enjoy the music to Whale Song and Bushleaguer, but they're hampered by vocal/lyrical issues. Comes Then Goes is great.

But it is Jack Irons lyrics and vocal.

Easy vote for Whale Song, as close as the band ever edged in Pixies-esque territory.
I really enjoy it.

Bammer pointing out Bu$hleague moves is why I'm voting Bu$hleaguer.

Whale Song sounds very similar to Good Morning, Captain by Slint in parts.

"Whale Song" has nosedived a lot for me. It was a joy to hear when Lost Dogs first came out, with all its weird textural sounds, but now I find out quite silly.
"Bu$hleaguer" is another song that has trended downward since release. When I was a Bush-despising 19-year-old, it was great, but the charms wore off quickly.
"Comes Then Goes" still has a commanding presence even with just Ed's voice and a single guitar through most of it. It's the sound of soldiering on through weariness. It gets my vote.

CTG is the only decent song here.

'leaguer and Whale Song are 1st round knockout faves that average 16 votes per tournament.
Comes Then Goes has only had one tournament, but got a solid 76 votes before getting knocked out in the 3rd round by Can't Keep.
