1/2 Full in one of the easiest choices this tournament has ever presented.

Ole is underrated you assholes.

Unthought Known sucks.

1/2 Full is fantastic. Especially that showbox version.

I like Ole, but 1/2 Full is really good.

I listened to all 3 and gonna say not a huge fan of Ole. Unthought Known was surprisingly enjoyable. But in the end voting for 1/2 Full here.

Ole has a really good bridge and outro, and I don't mind the music, but I really don't like the lyrics or Eddie's performance. Ole and Can't Deny Me were dicey moments for pre-album 'singles'.

1/2 Full and Unthought Known are very close for me. Both songs I like but don't love. 1/2 Full reminds me a lot of dissident and red mosquito (both better songs, imo) and despite its hugeness it feels like it's kept a little too grounded and never quite hits its mark. I am generally of the 'pearl jam is better studio than live' (in terms of what the music actually sounds like, not the live experience) but 1/2 full is one of those exceptions.

Unthought Known has that palm muted style Eddie was obsessed with for a while that I've never seen the appeal of, but after the first verse it does start to build nicely, and there are a few moments I really like (gems and rhinestones, see the path cut by the moon, dream the dream of other men). But the 'nothing left' bridge, which is the moment the song was building to, underwhelms, and it sounds just a little too thin as a song. Still feels a bit like the sketch of a song with epic potential that never got finished. I think he tried a lot of this again, to greater effect, on Lightning Bolt.

Vote for Unthought Known

I don't think any of these are favorites, per se, but Ole and 1/2 Full do have a lot going for them (Unthought Known has sunk like a stone since being an early favorite of mine off of Backspacer). I love the call-and-response ending of Ole, and the elusiveness of how what the band's playing on the bridge moves around Mike's solo. It's another song of there with a fairly blah first two minutes capped by a dynamite 40 seconds. 1/2 Full is perfectly placed on Riot Act, which has gone through so much by the time you get to it (I've been recently thinking that this is the album of theirs that would have been most conducive to being a double record). It's not a favorite, and some of Ed's lyrics are a little dodgy, but it's still enough to give it the top spot here.

1/2 Full not winning this matchup would be something worth leaving the board over.

Alright, you heard him RM. Let's make sure 1/2 Full doesn't win!

1/2 Full is sort of the bastard step child of Nothing As It Seems. It has that spacey guitar vibe to it that I wish Pearl Jam explored a lot more. It’s a bit of a harder rocking tune than bluesy and that is what makes the song so good. I wouldn’t take it over NAIS for sure, but I would definitely take it over these two.

Listen to them back to back. I at least don’t think I am crazy.

Matts offbeat snare drum fills at the end of half full are the best part of riot act :D

Unthought Known has never really done anything for me. Just feels unfinished. The climax doesn't get there, the lyrics are clunky. Just needs work.

The end of the Unthought Known progression for me:

Unthought Known & Amongst the Waves begat Lightning Bolt & Infallible begat Seven O’Clock (finally nails it here). Sort of trying to anthem, getting slightly better at doing it intentionally but not yet and then bam, got it, but in a way that sounds less intentional.
