These are both 5 star masterpieces, but Betterman nudges it out.

Fatigued because they are incredible songs and should have been played to death. Not their fault. The fans fault.
Better man. Indifference is great but it’s a hipster vote.

It’s the difference between a song and a mood piece. I’m gonna go for the latter nine times out of ten.

I mean I certainly rather listen to indifference these days but …..I don’t know. Better man is fucking wonderful. Perfect song. Those heartbreaking tags on the US fall tour 2000 are crushing

Round 2!
Indifference here. I have always loved the smoky back room feel to this.

Indifference is one of the band's best songs.

Easily indifference for me!
Never really been a fan of Better Man although it is good live.

i'm of the opposite mind, the best betterman is still the studio version.
indifference is the easy choice for me, too, though.

Whenever I revisit the album cut, I always have a rekindling of appreciation for the song. It’s so great. The live versions have become passé, in a way, and that’s ok. In its true form, it’s wonderful. Basically it’s a perfect pop rock song, emphasis on the rock and roll. This ain’t no Brian Adams love song.

Just re-listened to both. By God Indifference is a great song. So moody, such great cathartic lyrics. Awesome stuff.
But Betterman as a studio track is something else again. I've heard the song sooo many times now but I'm genuinely not sick of it. I think Phatj said it was a perfect pop rock song, and he's right. It gets my vote here.
