77. Breath vs. Black

Fuck, I don't know what to do. Probably Black? Two best songs in this round except for Immortality

Breath. Black has a great performance from Eddie while Mike kills it. One of two songs, with Alive, that I have heard on the radio and mistook it for a live version. Admittedly though, the only time I have seen Black live where is blew me away (beyond Mike’s solo which always does) was Saratoga in 2000. The other times I saw it live it was great but not among the favorites of the night. Whenever I’ve seen Breath live, it’s been among the favorites that night. That and I am only counting the Singles Soundtrack version since the retooled Ten Redux version I did not really enjoy.

I've always liked Breath more than SOLAT (both great, don't get me wrong, and both inextricably linked in my mind probably because of the Singles soundtrack). I wouldn't be mad if it somehow upset Black. But Black is just an all timer. I fully understand people feeling fatigued by it after all these years but I don't think I'll ever get sick of it. Just a brutal and lovely song.
