What is Your Ideal Midlife Crisis?
obviously, a midlife crisis isn't very ideal.
i'm not much of a car person, so i wouldn't shell out money for a sports car.
i think i'd be more inclined to pack up my shit and get out in nature.
lately, I've been obsessing over hiking tiktok, and people sharing their journey through the pacific crest trail and the continental divide trail.
what does your ideal midlife crisis look like? are you living it now?

Re: What is Your Ideal Midlife Crisis?
I'm pretty sure my whole life has been a midlife crisis. I've always kept in mind that I could die any day. It's why I've never committed to a career path or anything. Felt easier to just settle for a decent paying job and enjoy myself when I can.

This is where I'm at too. I've come to the realization that my escalating running routine is somehow connected to this.tragabigzanda wrote:i'm living it now. it's primarily related to earnings potential vs. what makes me happy. it's fine. everything's fine.

Reading philosophy the last few years has combined my midlife crisis with a terrifying existential crisis, but I think I'm emerging from it transformed, like a beautiful butterfly.

I think the regret Ill have is not playing in bands/doing shows as I get older. Maybe ill get a job at guitar center and wear leather pants.
Otherwise, i dont know. I have some things figured out and living in - what i feel is a paradise - will certainly keep some things at bay.
Also fear of aging in general and dying.

I might go the ponytail and Corvette route. Always seemed pretty boss to me. Don't forget the earring.

I asked my doctor if the fact that I drive a BMW and have a 30-year-old girlfriend meant that I was having a midlife crisis and he said not necessarily, but I dunno....seems bad.

if your BMW is more than you can actually afford and your girlfriend refers to you as her sugar daddy, it might be a midlife crisis

Have been leasing the 3 Series for the last 10 years and it is not a sugar daddy situation. When this lease is up, I am moving on to like a Nissan or something, as my child support payments are significant to ex-wife.tree_ wrote:if your BMW is more than you can actually afford and your girlfriend refers to you as her sugar daddy, it might be a midlife crisis

Fortunately, her aunt gifted her a decent Volvo station wagon a few years back so she's good for now.Peeps wrote:and when the girlfriends lease is up?Coach wrote:Have been leasing the 3 Series for the last 10 years and it is not a sugar daddy situation. Haha, yeah, I though that, too. But, no, we both genuinely like each other. I'm 46, she's 30. It's not that bad. If she was like early 20s...yeah, that's pushing it.tree_ wrote:i'm not sure he was talking about her carCoach wrote:Fortunately, her aunt gifted her a decent Volvo station wagon a few years back so she's good for now.Peeps wrote:and when the girlfriends lease is up?Coach wrote:Have been leasing the 3 Series for the last 10 years and it is not a sugar daddy situation.
