A while ago someone said they heard the Sad line "eleven nights he lay in bed..." As "He'd rather masturbate in bed..."

Now I can't unhear it. It fits the song pretty well too.

Interesting. Lyrics sites are no help in unraveling this mystery.

The Pearl jam website has it as

"He let 'em as he laid in bed
