I visited Hot Springs last August after spending time in Bentonville. What a sad transition. I seriously almost cried when we entered the main drag of town. The whole city needs a pressure washing. What in the hell happened in that economy since I visited last (1993)?
The trails up the two mountains bordering Hot Springs are pretty great, though. And there's a botanic forest outside the city that is well worth the visit.
All that said, I think I'd go Moline if I had to choose. Never been to Illinois.

We'd go running but he'd drop me even on an easy day. I've seen his pace and heart rate stats and they're on a different level than mine.

Hot Springs should not be a national park. That said, it’s the answer to this question. It’s got a Pirate Cove putt-putt.
