ITT: Movies RM user dad Has Never Watched
goodfellas
braveheart--many years ago, when i was active duty air force, one of my roommates had this on vhs, and LOVED it. i mean...LOVED it. one day after he got home from work, he asked if i'd ever seen it and i said no, and he was shocked. he's like, "i've got it on vhs. let's watch it now. it's so good." he popped in the tape, and i am not making this up. from the very beginning of the movie, he was reciting lines along with the cast. i stopped him after roughly five minutes, and said, "hey man, i don't want to watch this if you're going to repeat every line." i turned off the vcr and went to my room. i've never tried watching it since.
heat
casino
tombstone
*insert random marvel movie here* (i have seen a few recently with my kids tho.)
i'll list more as i think of them.
name a movie. i've likely not seen it.

You could probably watch those in about a week if you tried.

I'd skip Braveheart. It's funny, I just read a book that talked quite a bit about how popular that movie was in the military in the '90s.
I haven't seen any of the others besides Goodfellas.

Goodfellas, Heat and Casino are a must for anyone who barely cares about not only art, but the human condition at all.

Re: ITT: Movies RM user dad Has Never Watched
Braveheart is one of those movies that has been ripped off so many times that it's kinda hard to watch now.
Tombstone is a mess, but the performances are great.
You should watch Heat dude. Stop being dumb. Watch heat.

Re: ITT: Movies RM user dad Has Never Watched
are any of these must-watch films going to change my life?
will they make me feel better about my plight?
will they make me feel inferior to the characters?
will they make me think?

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
