Do you refrigerate eggs?

I do, but I know some people don't. At the store they're refrigerated, but is that necessary?

Back in the old days when I worked at a grocery store, they wouldn’t even be shipped refrigerated. We would put them in the cooler but they came from the egg people at room, or truck I guess, temperature.
That said, Mrs Wease will not allow us to keep eggs anywhere but the fridge.

Most of Europe doesn’t, I believe. But they also hate ice in general.
