The New Pornographers are a Canadian indie rock band, formed in 1997 in Vancouver. Presented as a musical collective of singer-songwriters and musicians from multiple projects, the band has released eight studio albums to critical acclaim for their use of multiple vocalists and elements of power pop incorporated into their music.

Discovered them in 2007, and their music was part of turning my year around, after my first marriage broke up. Worked hard, kept busy with social events, and at home I read a lot of books and listened to music. Also loved Neko Case's solo album Fox Confessor Brings the Flood, and have listened quite a bit to Dan Bejar's Destroyer over the years. Saw them live in Oslo in 2015.

My favorites are 2-4, while 1-3 are the highest rated online. Maybe start on the second album, if you want a first taste.

Ah man, I used to love these guys, kind of lost track of them over time. Good power-pop. Electric Version and Twin Cinema have some great tunes

i forgot that i'd seen them in 2010. honestly, the only thing i can recall from that show was Dan Bejar walking on stage when it was his turn to sing. oh, and some guys were cat calling Neko Case, and she said...and i'm paraphrasing..."nobody wants to have your fucking babies tonight."
