America... RMerica.. Our America

it's the only one that sounds good or makes any sense

Why not just say RMada? Or RMaica? Or RMland? Or RMville?

I have to believe those who advocate for "RMerica" have some sort of mental deficiency. It's atrocious.

“America” is four syllables.

RMica = “are emica” = four syllables. Not to mention it’s an exact swap of the “r” and “m” sounds. It’s perfect in every way.

RMerica “are em erica” = five syllables. Tree’ish = trash. I suppose you could try to pronounce it as “arm erica” but that requires an explanation. Doesn’t roll off the tongue. Figure it the fuck out.

RM stands alone as a place; it is short for Red Mosquito. Then "erica" is a play on words, making it like "America". And by itself, Erica is a pretty name. RMica is confusing. Jumbling "America" and making it into something else is just a baffling choice. And if you say it to people on the street they would be very confused and not understand the reference at all without you explaining it, and then they would say, "Why not RMerica? Because that seems to make more sense, and it sounds more aesthetically pleasing to my ears."

RMerica is substituting one letter, swapping out the "A" in America with an "R". It's neat, simple, clean.

If you swap out the "R" for an "A" in RMica, you get AMica. Stupid.

You're adding a syllable. That kills it. That's the opposite of clean.

RMica is an imaginary place. It doesn't matter that it doesn't "make sense". We are literally making up a word

This board is too focused on America. I was recently scolded for posting in centigrade. You may not remember this, but I coined the term 'RMica'. Yes, I was the first to use it. So let me also be the first to say that it's time to let it go. RMica, RMerica, neither of them fit what we want the future of this board to be.

Let's coin a new phrase. Pan-RM. Int-RM-national. I don't know, I'm just brainstorming. RMWorld. RMGlobe. RMars. EaRMth.

Yes, EaRMth. EaRMth is the one.

Welcome to EaRMth.

I'm OK with EaRMth only if it's pronounced like "RMth"

or maybe we should just go with RMth. Or maybe something like "RMarch". It's future forward. We're RMarching ahead, together as one.

RMoon is cool too.

But I've yet to see any legitimate flaws in RMerica.

Yes, RMer is an often used term around here, so it works on that level too.

Insoasmuch as you have both openly acknowledged this, I choose to walk the high road and, though I may not agree with you, I still like you, respect you, and enjoy your presence on the board.
