I'm getting old. It took me awhile to admit it. I think the tipping point was having to hold things further and further away from my eyes to read.

I've always had 20/20 vision. But then about a year ago, my wife bought me readers. And now, here I am: old, wearing readers on public transportation, and generally not giving a shit.

Do you wear glasses? Do you need to?

i got glasses and contacts in 1984 as a high school junior...wore the contacts for baseball for years...i've worn only glasses now for the last 15 years or so..i have to take them off to read papers and magazines though..i'm blind

i need a glass (or a cup or bottle) to drink, unless it's directly from a spigot. i also wear contacts for vision, and if not, i do wear glasses too

why don't you take them off when you sleep, swim or shower?

Readers. OTC. They told me when I had my LASIK surgery in ‘04 that I would have to have them.

i'm not sure i would be able to physically wear them. i never wore sunglasses b/c i dont like things that close to my eyes. i think i would just squint all the time

Yep. Had good eyesight growing up, but noticed 8 or so years ago they started to slip. I finally gave in and went for an exam in early 2019 and have an astigmatism. Been in glasses since

Same really. I’m not blind as a bat without them necessarily. I can drive fine as long as I don’t have to read signs from afar.
