Self-titled albums that aren't the band's debut

What are some good ones? What are some bad ones? Was it a good decision to have the album be self-titled?
It always bugs me when bands do this. Often they're in the press going "it's self-titled because it's our artistic identity condensed into a single album! It's our mission statement!" but what it really means is they're trying hard for a commercial comeback. The Mötley Crüe album from the 90s is a hilarious example because it didn't even really sound like them

It always feels like a lack of imagination to me.

We need more Led Zeppelins and Chicagos that number their albums, but keep it going always. King Gizzard should have done this - wouldn’t you have loved arguing “but XXIV isn’t quite IX”

I'd say that would be fairly accurate for BOTH of the Stone Temple Pilots releases.

Anyway, I'd take a self-titled Pumpkins record over some dorky shit like Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.
