Let's see if this idea has legs.
The concept is I (or whoever gets here first i in the morning) posts a post from the reddit sub - Am I the Asshole and we have fun judging the person, arguing and mocking the insane redditors.
I'll start on the next post and we'll see how it goes.

AITA for putting a bag of dog poop in a stranger's trash can?
I have a lovely 2yo Golden Retriever. She is full of energy, so she gets a lot of walks. I try to be a responsible dog owner. I always pick up her poo, even if it is nowhere near other people's homes. My wife and I brought the dog along to visit friends in an east coast Florida barrier island/beach community. Nice, quaint, nothing fancy.
We walked the dog, and naturally, the dog pooped. My wife had a bag, and picked up the poop. We walked on. About 4-5 houses down, there was a large, standard community issued, garbage can at the edge of the road. The lid was half up, as it was quite full and ready for pickup.
My wife deposited the tied closed bag-O-poo into the can.
A man mowing his lawn at the house next door (it was not his trash can) went off. He ran over and yelled at my wife: "You're disgusting. You can't do that. Why would you put your dog's waste (his term) in someone else's can." She said: "it is a garbage can. People put nasty things in garbage cans. That's what they're for." He harassed her until she took it out.
Is my wife (am I) the asshole here for putting a tied bag of poop in a stranger's street side garbage can?

No. There’s way worse things in public garbage cans.

Yes, I agree. The can was at the end of the driveway and full, so it was going to be emptied soon anyway.
Also, who cares? It's garbage in a garbage can.

Did you pick an easy one to start, or can we expect most of them to be this unchallenging

I picked an easy one. I do sort of regret it now.
If you want to post a better one go ahead, we'll do a soft reboot.

Its fine to throw garbage in someone else's can. You can shoot even them if try to interfere.

I'll side with the neighbor
we have a dumpster between our two buildings for all 10 tenants to use
we often get people coming down and dumping their shit (mostly construction waste) in there especially on sundays and mondays (trash is picked up at 230am tuesday morning). Sundays arent so bad but there have been times that it has been tough to get the garbage in and can be a hassle cleaning up around the outside of the dumpster.
we all pay to have this service and these free loaders aren't paying at all.
im not sure how single house garbage rates are created
also say you know you threw something away on accident and new it was in that specific can and that specific bag and you reach and stick your hand in dog shit. fuck that

"I'll go ahead and side with the neighbor" *describes completely different scenario*

what if they pay for garbage pickup and other don't? doesn't that just encourage other people to just throw their stuff away at their neighbors?

how i agree with the neighbor that it is disgusting to do that and i provided the scenario
i also disagreed with the sentiment of using other peoples trash bins for your use

Sounds like the Reddit story wasn’t a shared garbage can though.
Do you think it’s disgusting for you to put dog poop in your own trash can?

no it states it was a personal can and i am not sure how individual owners are charged for waste management services. is it by the bin or a flat rate? i used my scenario as an example that we as a group pay for our garbage dumpster and that people think they can just dump their garbage in ours at their leisure and that i think that is wrong
if i owned a dog i would have a special bin for that. right now if i owned a dog i would not because i live on the edge of the woods and a steep hill side right next to me

I don’t think the rate aspect is that big of a deal since this is a very small bag. I can see it from the general standpoint of using someone else’s can. It was definitely asshole for the neighbor to react like that when it wasn’t his can though.

hard disagree. neighbors have to look out for each other when animal feces is involved
