All she uses it for is browsing the internet, mostly just sweepstaking. What is the cheapest option for what she needs? Anybody know?

do you have a specific one in mind?JuanHamm wrote:Chromebook is your answer. You can get a competent one for under $300.
Storage is limited, but you can link it to a Google drive account.
wow that's really cheap. Why is it so cheap?JuanHamm wrote:I bought this one for my sister last year. She mostly uses it for online classes and has had no complaints.

It's made of cheap black plastic and it only has 4gb of ram. 8gb would be better, but chrome is a very lightweight os and as long as you don't have a million apps and tabs open 4gb would be fine.tree_ wrote:wow that's really cheap. I guess I'd want something more durable. And do you think 8gb of ram would ever present any issues with loading or whatever? She does an awful lot of browsing and says she wants to store photos and I don't want her to have hiccups. We could afford something more expensive with our tax return money I just don't want to buy more than she really needs.JuanHamm wrote:It's made of cheap black plastic and it only has 4gb of ram. 8gb would be better, but chrome is a very lightweight os and as long as you don't have a million apps and tabs open 4gb would be fine.tree_ wrote:wow that's really cheap. I went ahead and ordered that one cause it has the 0 interest payment plan option and all the reviews look really good. I like the ability to switch to tablet or "tent" modes. And it'll arrive just in time for a Valentine's day present. I think she'll be pleased.tree_ wrote:what do you think of this one? Have any experience with 2-1 chromebooks?

That’s a solid find, mister. Let me know how she likes it after awhile.tree_ wrote:I went ahead and ordered that one cause it has the 0 interest payment plan option and all the reviews look really good.
