All she uses it for is browsing the internet, mostly just sweepstaking. What is the cheapest option for what she needs? Anybody know?

Chromebook is your answer. You can get a competent one for under $300.

Storage is limited, but you can link it to a Google drive account.

I bought this one for my sister last year. She mostly uses it for online classes and has had no complaints.

It's made of cheap black plastic and it only has 4gb of ram. 8gb would be better, but chrome is a very lightweight os and as long as you don't have a million apps and tabs open 4gb would be fine.

I guess I'd want something more durable. And do you think 8gb of ram would ever present any issues with loading or whatever? She does an awful lot of browsing and says she wants to store photos and I don't want her to have hiccups. We could afford something more expensive with our tax return money I just don't want to buy more than she really needs.

I went ahead and ordered that one cause it has the 0 interest payment plan option and all the reviews look really good. I like the ability to switch to tablet or "tent" modes. And it'll arrive just in time for a Valentine's day present. I think she'll be pleased.

That’s a solid find, mister. Let me know how she likes it after awhile.

She started using it yesterday evening. The screen size, 13.3", is a little smaller than her previous one, but it's not a problem. It's a hit. I just hope she actually utilizes the touchscreen and 3-in-1 features. She struggles adapting to new technology.

What's her password?

Has she swept any stakes yet or did you buy her a (refurbished) dud?
