Sequels that are better than the original

Terminator 2 is probably the most obvious one. Does anyone prefer The Terminator?
As much as I love Ridley Scott I think Aliens and Bladerunner 2049 are both superior to the originals. I'm sure there will be plenty of disagreement there.
What are some others?

T2 for sure
obvious one is The Godfather. I would add Evil Dead 2 too.

I have never seen The Godfather 2. I saw the first one in the theater about a year ago and loved it. I should make that a priority.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Disagree about Aliens being better than the first one.

They're both great movies, but Aliens has Bill Paxton and the Alien doesn't look like a guy in a suit.

Not by a wide margin, but Paddington 2.

Are we only counting the first sequel for the purposes of this thread?

The original Back to the Future was best.

And technically, I did like The Last Jedi more than The Force Awakens, too.
