Quiet. Subtle. Present…

Post by onejourney »

I wasn’t the most fortunate, but I tried.

My collection wants huge, but I offered.

I guess I’m getting Older. Reflecting on a time I felt “cool” trading Pearl Jam bootlegs via VHS, CD, VCD, DVD, torrent, Hard Drive??
I don’t quite remember the order, but I always felt part of the community trying to get people the content they wanted.

I never filmed or recorded a show, but I remember being quiet if you were.

I remember offering to distribute, seed, or B&P if the situation permitted.

I remember keeping a spreadsheet of all of your addresses so I could send you something cool you might like as a surprise. Maybe a dupe I got, or something that made me think of you.

I remember thinking I could send you 7 shows of a band you never heard of, so I could get 1 Pearl Jam show in return. Felt like a fair deal.

Regardless the situation, I remember these boards, Pearl Jam fans, and others framing the way I think about music…about life?

It may have been 20+ years ago, but I’ll never forget this weird little online community that gave me a home when I needed it. It’s one that I will never forget, and will always be grateful for.

I’m ok…just feeling nostalgic and wanted to give this place a little love. :)

Best to you all.

Yes it was always the thrill of getting some sweet new recordings to listen to. We had our trade groups and I acquired a ton of stuff through trading and B&P on Phishhook and here.

Really makes you feel old, love going to shows where they have a tapers section. I remember when I got a copy of the taboo and mysterious “Pearl Jam Movie”…..life’s simple pleasures lol

Who Knew you could either pay $100-$500 in early 00's money for a VHS copy of that...or just wait a couple more years for a VCD and still not completely understand what you're watching
